Lake Allatoona Fishing Guides Report Jan ( Week 1 )

This Lake Allatoona fishing guides report for striper and hybrid has been brought to you exclusively by Robert Eidson of First Bite Guide Service, 770 827-6282. www.firstbiteguideservice.com Lake Allatoona, Georgia email: eidson6260@comcast.net.

Line-Sides is Good. I didn’t fish as much as I would have like this week due to the weather but the few times I was on the water fishing was good. The bait is starting to move back into the Creek and so are the Striper and Hybrids. Mid lake seems to be holding better numbers of fish then the southend and the northend but I think all the creeks on the lake will produce line-sides right now. Shiners fished on free-lines and planner boards are producing better then trout and shad right now. Remember to down size your hooks to match your shiners for more strikes. After the sun comes up switch to pulling umbrella Rigs. I have had my best luck this week pulling my rigs 145 feet behind the boat at 3.1 to 3.4 miles and hour. And have caught fish weighting up to 16 lbs. As the lake starts to clears the umbrella rig bite will get great . I still have a few days open next week. Give me a call at 770 827-6282 if you would like to book a trip……

Lake Allatoona Fishing Guides Report Dec ( Week 4 )

Line side fishing is good and the bite this week is the same as last week so change nothing. The water temperatures finally hit the magic number of 55 degrees and with that the top water action has taken off. Flat lines and planner boards are working great right at sun up threadfin and gizzard shad are working well. By mid day change over to down lines. But trout seems to be out fishing shad 3 to 1. Mid lake is still the place to be. There are tons of fish between Kellogg Creek and Stamp Creek right now. This is the only part of the lake we have needed to fish in the past 3 weeks. There may be some fish up in Allatoona Creek we just haven’t been that far south in weeks. Trolling has been by far the best bite on the water after the sun comes up. December and January are 2 of the only months of the year that trolling will out product live bait fishing sometimes as much as 7 to 1 in a full day trip. This is the time of the year you have to be universal when it comes to striper fishing. We prefer live bait fishing over trolling but there are just sometimes of the year that trolling just can’t be beat. Top water is really starting to heat up. So keep a spook or a Sammy ready for these busting beasts.

Line-sides The bite on Allatoona this week has been Fair at best. The lake is murky from one end to the other and visibility is less then two feet. The best bite on the lake right now is mid lake around Bartow Carver. Free-lines and Planner-Boards are still working best right at sun up and then again at sun down. Once the sun comes up switch to down-lines in the same area’s. Trolling is very slow right now. The umbrella rig bite will pick back up as the water clears.

With the bite on Allatoona being on the slow side this past week . I moved most of my trips this past week to Carters Lake. The bite on Carters has been very good for Trophy Stripers and Spots. On Sunday 12/6 Grayson Usrey age 12 boated two Trophy caliper fish one being a 22 lb Striper and the other being a 5.8 lb Spotted bass. Then on Tuesday 12/8 Doctor Pham of Dallas Ga boated his personal best Striper weighting in a 21.15 lbs and also a 5+ lb Spot. I would like to Congratulate both Grayson and Doctor Pham on their great catches…..We are running a special right now thought the end of Jan. If you book a 6 hour trip on Carters Lake with First Bite Guide Service and Mention Have Fun Fishing you will recieve and extra 2 hours on me. That right 8 hours for the price of 6. Linesides: Good, not great, but should get better when the weather stabilizes. The flatline and planer-board bite is starting to pick up but is over with by 9:30 am. “Then it’s downrods and four-arm U-rigs. We caught more fish this week on our U-rigs then live bait, and that’s the best bite right now. I am targeting the flats from Victoria all the way up to Clear Creek. I’m not even looking in the Allatoona arm right now. There’s a ton of fish moving up on flats and points to feed on small threadfin right now. Catch them on jigging spoons or Rooster Tails if you can get them deep enough. Fish 10 to 12 feet deep. The flats off Gaults have been good, as well as the island at Harbor Town and Bartow-Carver. Seagulls are starting to show up. I expect in December the fishing will be full blown. Key on birds and topwater. Keep a Super Fluke, Sammy or Zara Spook ready. Pull flatlines and planer boards, and later in the mornings pull a lighter three-arm U-rig.” We still have a few days open for Christmas Break give me a call at 770 827-6282 and lets take the kids fishing…….View my daily catches at www.lakeallatoonafishing.net under the thread Recent Trips With First Bite….

Lake Allatoona Fishing Guides Report For Nov. ( Week 3 )

This Lake Allatoona Striper Fishing Report Is Bought To You By Robert Eidson Of First Bite Guide Service 770 827-6282 www,firstbiteguideservice.com.

The Line-Side fishing this week is the same as it was two weeks ago.. I spent most of the week fishing mid lake ( From Kellogg’s Creek to Clear Creek ) and caught some really nice Hybrids and Stripers on down-lines, flat-lines, spoons and u-rigs. And we even caught a few nice fish on planner boards this past week. I look for the planner board bite to be wide open in the next two to three weeks. The fish are starting to move halfway back into the creeks and up on the flats. We also starting to see more top water action midday.. The fish that are hugging the bottom are willing to eat almost anything . The suspended fish are a little more picking. If they don’t bite within 10 minutes move on to another school….. We are running a November Special. Book a six hour trip on Lake Allatoona or Carters Lake and recieve and extra hour on me. You can also view our daily catches on www.lakeallatoonafishing.net under the thread recent trips with First Bite. Please stop by and take a look.

Lake Allatoona-Carters Fishing Report Nov. ( Week 3 )

This Lake Allatoona striper and hybrid report fishing report has been brought to you exclusively by Robert Eidson of First Bite Guide Service, 770-827-6282.

Line-sides Fishing is Fair. The lake has risen almost 8 feet since last weeks rains and there is debris scatter all over the lake from Little River all the way south to the dam. The storm we had last week also had high winds witch cover the lake with pine straw and has make it all most impossible to fish free-lines and planner boards and trolling is almost out of the question as well.

With all of this being said I had to move most of my trips from Allatoona to Carters this week. The bite on Carters Lake has been Fair for numbers and GREAT for big fish. We have caught Stripers up to 20 lbs this week and Hybrids pushing close to 11 lbs. The live bait bite has been fair. The best spot on the lake right now for live bait fishing is mid lake around Stumpy Island. The fish are hugging the bottom between 25-40 feet and will eat gizzard shad, thread-fin and trout. The Trolling bite is the best bite going on Carters. My clients this week have caught some of the biggest Hybrids I have ever seen on any lake in the state on Carters along with many stripers in the high teens this week while trolling u-rigs.. Again Stumpy Island is a great starting point but don’t over look Camp Branch and Fisher Creek. I have done really well in both of these creeks this week.

Nov-Dec Special..

The Line-Side fishing this week has been Good. I spent most of the week fishing mid-lake and have been doing really well before the rains on Wednesday. My clients have been catching good numbers of striped and hybrid bass on down-lines, flat-lines, spoons and u-rigs. The fish are starting to move halfway back into the creeks and up on the flats. We also seeing some limited top water action in the mornings.. The fish that are hugging the bottom are willing to eat almost anything . The suspended fish are a little more picking. Line-sides GREAT !!! the bite this week has been outstanding. And is the same as last week, Change Nothing… The fish are starting to move up on the points and humps and are very easy to catch when you find them. The live bait bite is hard to beat right now. Flat-lines and planner-boards are working well at sun up and then again at sun down. After the sun comes up down-lines fished at 20 - 50 over open water is working well. The north end of the lake is starting to clear and is producing some good fish. The Allatoona Creek arm is also starting to produce. I really don’t think it matters what part of the lake you are fishing right now so long as you target the flats and main lake points.

The U-rig bite is also working well and will produce fish from sun up to sun down.. Fishing is crazy right now and is only getting better.

Line-sides GREAT !!! the bite this week has been outstanding. I had trips almost everyday this week and boated very good numbers on all of them. The fish are starting to move up on the points and humps and are very easy to catch when you find them. The live bait bite is hard to beat right now. Flat-lines and planner-boards are working well at sun up and then again at sun down. After the sun comes up down-lines fished at 20 - 50 over open water is working well. I really don’t think it matters what part of the lake you are fishing right now so long as you target the flats and main lake points.

The U-rig bite is also working well and will produce fish from sun up to sun down. On 10/27 we hook up on a Striper that we just couldn’t stop. She pulled off 200 feet a line before she broke the 40 lb wire leader. Fishing is crazy right now. The bite shouldn’t be this good yet but you won’t here me complain.
