LINE_SIDES: Good. For stripers, big baits fished on planer boards have been producing some good-sized stripers and good numbers, . “I’m using big gizzards or big trout, and I’m back in the creeks and in the rivers. Little River, up to Clear Creek have been producing best for me. The key to fishing this part of the lake right now is clear water. If the water is muddy don’t waste your time putting out bait. Go find the mud line and start fishing. .. The Hybrid fishing is still good but seems to be best mid-lake. Fishing Med. sizes shiners and Thread-fin shad on down-lines between 20-45 feet deep are working best for them..Look for these fish over the river channel between Galt’s Ferry and Clear Creek.

Top-Water there is a limited top water bite on Allatoona right now. But it only last about 20min.’s at sun up.

Trolling has been VERY SLOW for the past few days. Look for it to pick back up as the water clears.

Line sides fishing is good and live bait is working good on down-lines, free lines, and planner boards. The best times for this are early morning and late afternoon. During mid day find a point set up over a 30 to 40 foot bottom and change over to all down lines. Most of the fish caught this week came between 24 to 30 feet deep and mid lake is the only place to be right now. Finding fish isn’t that hard right now, but finding feeding fish is. If you find a school a fish work them no longer than and hour. If they don’t bite find another school. Sometimes you don’t have to look 30 to 40 yards from the school you just fished. The big fish are starting to show up and there has been a few caught in the past two weeks over 20 lbs. The water temperature is holding in the high forty’s and the bite should remain good through Feb. With any luck we want have a shad kill this year. And fishing will remain good the rest of the winter….

Good. The bite this week is the same as last week’s, change nothing…… The hybrids and stripers are concentrated mid-lake from the “S” turns to Bartow Carver and to concentrate on the river channel between Kellogg Creek and Victoria. Early in the morning, flatlines and planer boards are getting hammered. Trout and shad seem to be working equally well. The downline bite should also produce, and the fish are anywhere from 18 - 35 feet. The best bite right now is on U-rigs once the sun gets up, though. My clients have been catching very good numbers on a U-rig pulled 80 to 100 feet behind the boat with chartreuse jigs and trailers. He said to pull the edges of the river and creek channels and to expect bites when you start marking the huge clouds of baitfish. Also, be sure to keep something tied on for the schooling fish. When you see gulls diving, you’ll find hybrids and stripers pushing bait up. I like to fish this schooling action fish with a white Rooster Tail, fluke or Spook.

Good. The bite has been as good as I could ask for in late December. The hybrids and stripers are concentrated mid-lake from the “S” turns to Bartow Carver and to concentrate on the river channel between Kellogg Creek and Victoria. Line-sides ” Good ” Not a lot has change this week, fishing remains very good. It is so good at times I almost forgot it was winter and not spring until the cold weather set in Tuesday. The numbers and quality of fish my clients caught this week where spring like numbers. We even had one that weighted 21 lbs. The seagulls are here and are really giving away the location of the feeding fish. The fish are on the move between Bartow Carver and the S-Turns and are relating to the river and creek channels when their not on top.

Live bait is working when the fish are down and can be caught on down-lines 15-30 feet deep. But the best bite is coming on the umbrella rigs fished 60-150 feet behind the boat at speeds of 2.4 - 3.1 miles and hour.

When the fish are on top that are very active and will eat almost anything. Spooks, Flukes, Rooster tails and popping corks will all produce. Again the birds are giving these fish away. And Cloudy - Raining days are you best bet for top water action……

Line-sides ” Good ” I have been on the water almost everyday this week and the fishing has been great. It was so good at times I almost forgot it was winter and not spring. The Line-Side is Good .. I was out of town most of last week, but the days I did fish I stayed mid lake ( From Kellogg’s Creek to Clear Creek ). And caught some really nice Hybrids and Stripers on down-lines, flat-lines, spoons and u-rigs. And we even caught a few nice fish on planner boards this past week. I look for the planner board bite to be wide open in the next two to three weeks. The fish are starting to move halfway back into the creeks and up on the flats. We also starting to see more top water action midday.. The fish that are hugging the bottom are willing to eat almost anything . The suspended fish are a little more picking. If they don’t bite within 10 minutes move on to another school….. We are running a December Special. Book a six hour trip on Lake Allatoona or Carters Lake and recieve and extra hour on me. You can also view our daily catches on www.lakeallatoonafishing.net under the thread recent trips with First Bite. Please stop by and take a look.

Linesides: Good, Nothing has change since last week. The rain we had “again” ealier this week as really stain the northend of the lake. This really didn’t hurt me because I wasn’t spending that much time north of the S-Turns any way. There are fish in the S-Turns but mostly white bass. The Umbrella rig bite is starting to be the best over all bite on the lake.Free-lines and planner boards are working early in the morning and then again right before dust. But end between sun up and sun down the umbrella bite is king.. “There is a down-rods bite buy nothing like the umbrella bite.. We caught most of our fish again this week on our U-rigs then live bait, and that is about norm for most of the winter. I am targeting the flats from the S-turns all the way up to Clear Creek. I’m not even looking in the Allatoona arm right now. There’s a ton of fish moving up on flats and points to feed on small threadfin right now. Catch them on jigging spoons or Rooster Tails if you can get them deep enough. Fish 10 to 12 feet deep. The flats off Gaults have been good, as well as the island at Harbor Town and Bartow-Carver. Seagulls are starting to show up. I expect in December the fishing will be full blown. Key on birds and topwater. Keep a Super Fluke, Sammy or Zara Spook ready. Pull flatlines and planer boards, and later in the mornings pull a lighter three-arm U-rig.” We still have a few days open for Christmas Break give me a call at 770 827-6282 and lets take the kids fishing…….View my daily catches at www.lakeallatoonafishing.net under the thread Recent Trips With First Bite….
