Lake Allatoona Fishing Guides Report Jan ( 1/29/10 )

This Lake Allatoona Fishing Guides Report Is Bought To You By Robert Eidson Of First Bite Guide Service. www.firstbiteguideservice.com 770 827-6282

Stripers: Poor , The rain we had last week has bought the lake level up more then six feet in less then a week. The lake is rolling mud on the north and south ends off the lake. The rest of the lake is heavily stain. The shad kill is Still in full swing and there are dead shad and gulls everywhere. This is with out question the biggest shad kill we have had in years. This has and will make fishing tough for a few more weeks but in the long run it will be a big benefit to all anglers this coming spring.

If you just got to get out and try you luck be sure to take some small shiners and jigging spoons. Also try a medium-sized shiner fished under a cork, like you’re crappie fishing. Watch your fish-finder for big schools of bait that are near the top of the water column, 10 to 12 feet deep. You’ll see some shad on top that are dying,” . and fish the edge of the dying bait. Look for these fish to be 2/3 of the way in back of the creeks.

Until the fishing picks back up on Lake Allatoona. I will be moving all of my trips to Lanier. We have also cancel all trips to Carters Lake do to the shad kill……..
